Cross-country skiing
The winter season at Lake Achensee is a paradise for cross-country skiers: over 230 kilometres of classic and skating cross-country trails run through the valleys, forests and by the lake. Sporting highlights include the traditional Achensee 3 Valleys Run and the cross-country skiing race in Achenkirch. The cross-country trail starts just a few steps away from the Alpenvital.
Winter hiking
There are over 150 kilometres of cleared trails for quiet walks through the glistening winter landscape. A particularly atmospheric route is the path around the golf course, right in front of the Alpenvital.
Tobogganing
The winter season also includes a fun toboggan run. The 5 km long natural toboggan run on the Zwölferkopf in Pertisau – the longest in the region – offers fun for all the family during the day. It is open daily during the Karwendel cable car’s operating hours. The Rodlhütte toboggan run in Pertisau is 1.3 km long, can be reached on foot or with the Rodlexpress, and is illuminated at night. The 3.5 km long Achenkirch toboggan run is also illuminated on Wednesday evenings.
Skiing
The small, family-friendly Zwölferkopf ski resort in Pertisau provides the perfect conditions for skiers and families leisurely enjoying the slopes. You can easily reach the slopes using the Karwendel cable car, where you can enjoy stunning views and winter fun away from the crowds.

Christmas on the lake and the winter line for Achensee boat trips
This combines several Christmas markets on land and on the water. From the winter line, you can admire Lake Achensee in winter (please note that the company closes briefly in January).
Mountain Christmas market at Fischergut Farm
The farmhouse – one of the oldest in the region – offers an atmospheric Christmas market featuring regional delicacies and Tirolean arts and crafts every year.
