Family hikes and discovering nature
Easy paths around the lake and through the Karwendel valleys are perfect for family hikes around Lake Achensee. The Wusel Seeweg trail has 16 stations where the water spirit tells stories about nature, turning every tour into an adventure.
Swimming & playing
The largest lake in Tirol has shallow banks for splashing around by, as well as offering perfect opportunities for stand-up paddleboarding and several playgrounds. And wherever there is water, Wusel the water spirit is never far away.
Cycling with the family
Adventure along the shore or into the valleys on safe paths, always enjoying a magnificent view of the mountains and the lake. After stopping for a break in one of the cafés, restaurants or mountain huts, you’ll certainly find it easier to pedal.
Tobogganing
The whole family can enjoy tobogganing fun on the Zwölferkopf mountain, whizzing 5 km down into the valley to Pertisau on a winding natural toboggan run. The start can be found right at the top station for the Karwendel cable car, where toboggans can be hired.
Ice skating
Whether it’s at the atmospheric illuminated ice rink in Achenkirch or the artificial ice rink at Atoll Achensee, there are plenty of opportunities for families to enjoy skating here. With ice stock lanes and the chance to spend long evenings on the ice with warm drinks, there’s something for everyone.
